OUM & OCMM dancers practising together at St Barnabas School

Our practices are held at Jericho community centre during the Winter (from September to May). We are a mixed-gender side, and we practise together with the our non-university counterparts the Oxford City Morris Men (OCMM), so everybody is welcome to come along.

The best time to join us is in the Autumn at the beginning of our practice season, so that you have plenty of time to learn some of the dances before our dance out season begins in May (especially if you are completely new to dancing), but you are very welcome to join at any time 🙂

Dates: Wednesday evenings from September until May Day.

Time: 7:30pm – 9pm

Venue: Jericho Community Centre,  33a Canal Street, Oxford. Ring the buzzer for ” dance studio” to be let in.

Cost: Free!

What to wear/bring: Comfy clothes you can move in and sensible shoes or trainers, and some hankies if you have them. It is surprisingly hard work, so you might also want to bring some water.

If you have any further questions about joining, please contact our Squire at squire@am39.com.

We are a very mixed group, with male and female dancers aged 18 to 80+ and of many nationalities – so if you are not sure whether morris dancing is for you, the answer is probably ‘yes it is’ (although it does help if you like hanging about in pubs).
